Asking For a Friend - Part 3

How does placing our hope in Jesus transform our identity and restore our relationships with others?

You are invited to anchor your hope not in circumstances, but in the finished work of Jesus Christ. As you accept His forgiveness and renew your mind, you will find the strength to make peace with those you have hurt. Let this truth of your new identity drive you to love others even when they are difficult to love.

What is the definition of optimism and how does it relate to faith?

Welcome to the Real Church podcast. Our mission is for you to know the love of Jesus and live out your God given purpose. Now join us and listen in to the latest message from pastor David John Phillips.

Good morning. Good morning. And welcome once again to Real Church. It's an honor once again to be the pastor. There's no place that I'd rather be.

There's nothing that I'd rather be doing than getting to pastor you guys. You guys have been. It's just been amazing ever since we started the church 2 2 years ago. Just super thankful for you, and just you you being invested in in in this church. It's awesome.

And as he said, if this is your first time, if it's your first time here, you're welcome. And I guarantee you will walk away from today. Number 1, encouraged. And number 2, with a deeper understanding of how much God loves you. Amen?

Did you guys have a good week this past week? Good. Good. Good. Good.

I did as well. And as he said already, we're continuing the asking for a friend series. And I love it because you guys get to pick the messages. Last week, we talked about we we asked the question, and we just we stayed on this 1 question the whole week. It was or the whole message, I just felt like we really need to unpack quite a bit.

And the question was, why does God put us through trial after trial after trial? In short, he doesn't. If that piques your interest, go listen to the message on YouTube. We'll also have the podcast up by the end of the day today on anywhere that there's podcasts, can listen to it audio only, or Facebook or YouTube. You are welcome to do so.

So this week, I want to get into more than 1 question, hopefully. Alright? And we're going to start with the first question. You guys ready? Alright.

Here we go. First question was, is it wrong to be optimistic as a Christian? Now, when I first read this question, was like, surely the person meant to me, meant to write, is it wrong to be pessimistic as a Christian? But I'm gonna answer the question as is and answer what I think they were asking as well because I just think I think this is gonna infuse hope. Anybody need hope?

Everybody needs hope. Everybody needs to be infused with more hope. Amen? Okay. So if we're going to actually answer the question, we first, we need to look at what is the definition of optimistic.

Right? What is the definition? If you look at the dictionary, optimistic is hopeful and confident about the future. What's the definition of pessimistic? Pessimistic is tending to see the worst aspect of things or tending to believe that the worst will happen.

So if we just dive right into scripture, Hebrews-11:1. Do we have that? There we go. Now faith is the confidence in what we hope for and the assurance about what we do not see. Right?

How does the Bible define the object of our hope and our identity in Christ?

So what is optimism? Optimism is being hopeful and confident about the future. So optimism or hope is a very important part of *faith*. Also in Hebrews-11:6, it says, and without faith, it is impossible to please God. Therefore, since hope is a necessary part of faith, right, and faith is necessary part of walking in a way that pleases God.

It is necessary to be optimistic. It is necessary to be hopeful and confident about the future. But here's the thing. I'm not just optimistic and hopeful just for optimism's sake. Right?

I'm not just walking through life and because I feel hopeful today, then I'm all good. And if I don't feel hopeful, then no. You have to have something, a thing or person in which to put your optimism. Right? A thing or person in which to put your hope.

It's not just based on a circumstance. It's not just based on how I feel. No. There is the object of our optimism. There's an object of our hope or a person.

First John, watch this, in 1 John-3. First John is 1 of my favorite books of the Bible. But it starts with, see what great love everybody say, love. Great Yeah. Great love.

See what great love the father has lavished on us. The word lavish means to give generously. Right? Over abundance, like richly blessed. See what great love the father has lavished on us.

The heavenly father wants to lavish his love on you. Receive it. Receive his goodness. See what great love the father has lavished on us that we should be called **"children of God"**, and that is what we are. It says, the reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Which means that more clearly we see Jesus as he is now, the more we are like him in this world. You heard me quote over and over 1 John-4:17. In this world, we are like Jesus.

Why? Because we're new creations in Christ with him in us. It's amazing and wonderful. It's that's the good news of the gospel. It goes on to say, all who have this hope.

Everybody say, this hope. All who have this hope in him, in Jesus, purify themselves just as he is pure. That's amazing. It's because of our hope in him that we are pure as Jesus is pure. Hope is very closely connected to faith, and hope and faith play a part in belief.

The Bible says, Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness. When we put our hope in Jesus, it's the same as or similar to putting our faith in Jesus or a part of that. When we believe God, it's credited to us as righteousness. He sees us as pure in the same way that Jesus is pure. That's amazing.

So our hope is not in just some random thing or circumstance or not in our own goodness or our own inability to or our own not doing bad or whatever. No. Our hope is in Jesus. *Romans-15:13* talks about hope. And I've I've said this before, it was about 3 or 4 months ago while I was doing the encouraging word, studying for the encouraging word, and God really made this specific verse stand out to me.

And it's just meant a lot. I go back to it a lot ever since then. You ever read in the word and you're like, God, would you speak to me? And all of a sudden, something jumps off the page and it's like like your life verse for a while. And then you can always go back to it, and when you tell others about Jesus or you see something that that they need, you bring that verse back up and and you're you're sharing your testimony of what Jesus has spoken to you.

Why is pessimism considered antichrist and how can we change our thinking?

That's that's been this verse over the last few months. It says, may the God of *hope* fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. So the God of hope wants you to overflow with hope. Right? Why is it important for us to overflow with hope?

Because we live in a world where a lot of people are hopeless, because they don't have a foundation for their hope. Their hope is in circumstances and is shaken based on what's going on around them. But when you put your hope in Jesus, the rock, no matter what happens around you, your hope is sturdy because it's not in what's going on, it's in him. And he wants you to overflow with hope. So that when others when you're around others and and people sense something different, they're sensing the hope that's in you that is overflowing.

*Ephesians-5:1* says, be imitators of God as dearly beloved children. And God is the God of hope, and so we are supposed to be people of hope. Another verse that's a favorite 1 of mine, talking about optimism, or being optimistic, is Romans-8:28. Like, you probably hear it all the time, especially if you're around me. It says, all things work together for good, for those that love God and are the called according to his purpose.

There is nothing but hope in that verse. All things work together for good. Wait. Think about the very worst possible thing that could happen to you, and let's say that were to happen today. God is saying, even in that, you can have hope because I'm with you, I'm there, and you can trust me moving forward because I'm the God of hope, and I'm gonna turn out that situation that was meant for evil for you, for good because I love you.

There is nothing but hope in that verse. So know it's not wrong to be optimistic. As a matter of fact, pessimistic thoughts are antichrist, Cause God is the God of hope. So thinking the worst about the future is not from God. It's from the enemy.

And so anytime, and we all we all from time to time have those thoughts come to the mind. Don't be condemned. No. Take those thoughts captive, and tell those antichrist, antichrist thoughts to get out. Change your thinking back to *hope* because the God of hope is with you.

Well, pastor, I don't that's hard. You don't you don't know how do I how do I change my thinking? Pink elephants. Pink elephants. Pink elephants.

Pink elephants. Some of you are wondering why in the world is he he's saying "pink elephants". Others are having pink elephants run through your brain all of a sudden. Others are are thinking about elephants and wondering why you can't get it to turn pink. And he's saying, others have the words pink elephants run into your mind, and you're like, what is going on?

It's amazing how God created our brains. Because what you put in the eyes and what you put in the ears changes what you think about. And so if you have nothing but pessimistic thoughts going through your brain, maybe you've been filling your eyes and your ears with stuff that's pessimistic. Stop hanging around those people. Yeah?

Stop I'm sure we watch the news in order to to be filled in with what's going on in the world. Then turn it off And go back, fill your eyes and your ears with his word. Change what you listen to, and put on some Christian music that's full of worship and full of Jesus. Change what's going into your brain, and guess what? Your thoughts are gonna shift.

And as your thoughts are gonna shift and don't just put just, you know, lovey dovey. Put stuff talking about Jesus in whom our hope is found. Then your thinking will shift because you'll be thinking about the 1 in whom our hope is found. And all of sudden, your life will shift. You'll be living a hopeful, optimistic life.

Guess what? I am an **"eternal optimist"**. I say that all the time. I'm an eternal optimist. John Krueger used to get so aggravated when I'd say that.

What is the theological basis for being an eternal optimist and how do we surrender?

Not anymore. But I'm eternal optimist, and there's a reason for that. Believe it or not, you're eternal optimists too. You just are. Here's why.

I love this family. They're amazing. Absolutely amazing. Here's why. Think about this now.

The Bible says, in 1 John-4, God is love. It also says in 1 Corinthians-13, love always hopes. Right? God is love. Love always hopes.

What is optimism? Hoping, confident hope in the future. Right? So God always hopes. Not only that, he's eternal.

So God is an eternal optimist. And God's in you. If you receive Jesus, he's in you. Right? And he's conforming you to look like himself.

You're supposed to be an imitator of him. Therefore, you are an eternal optimist. Fair enough? So if you have trouble with pessimism, which is not of Jesus, in the middle of the situation and the circumstance, realize that Jesus is with you and put your hope in him. Amen?

Let's do an exercise just for a moment. If you don't mind, I would love for all of us, let's stand up. And and if you feel comfortable, you know, I've said this before, raising 2 hands, in the Old Testament, they would walk into the king's presence. And when they walk into a king's presence, any king, they raise their hands as a sign of surrender. Right?

So if you feel comfortable, if you raise your hands with me, and just say this, Jesus, I give you my pessimistic attitudes. Change my thoughts. Change my thoughts. Teach me to trust you. So that I can overflow with hope.

So that overflow with hope. Let me pray for you. Father, I thank you for this amazing congregation. Lord, I thank you for those watching online. Lord God, I pray, father, just the the the spirit of hope to flood them right now.

Lord, I pray supernatural peace. Whatever circumstance they're going through, they see you with them in the midst of it, realizing that you're there, that you care, that you have a plan for them, you have a future for them, and you're going to work it out for their good because your plan for them is life, and life more abundantly, in the name of Jesus. So all despair, all anti peace and anti joyful attitudes and thought processes and stuff, I rebuke it, I break it, and curse it, and say no in Jesus' name. You are filled with hope. Amen?

Should believers ask for forgiveness if they are already forgiven through Christ's sacrifice?

You can be seated. Alright. That was question number 1. Alright, which brings me to question number 2. You guys ready for question number 2?

Yes. Alright. Let's bring up question number 2 on the screen. No. That's not question number 2.

Wrong number 2. I should have checked the notes. That's my bad. Ah, there we go. When praying, should we ask for forgiveness even though we are already forgiven?

What do you think about that? A good question? Alright. Let's dive in. Some of you don't understand.

I'm not being pointed here. I'm just saying, in general, a lot of people don't understand that we are already forgiven. So let's dive into that first. Okay? That we're already forgiven.

*Hebrews-10:10*. And before I read that, some people think that they have to beg for forgiveness. And if they don't beg for forgiveness, then they're not forgiven. And that every time that they sin, that God is holding it against them until they ask for forgiveness. Right?

Okay. *Hebrews-10:10*. It says, and by that will, we will we have been made holy through the *sacrifice* of the body of Jesus *Christ *"once for all"**. Everybody say, once for all. Once for all.

Amazing. So Jesus' sacrifice was good enough 1 time to pay for all sin, past, present, and future. Yeah? Praise the Lord. Man, that's awesome.

As a matter of fact, I quote this verse all the time. Romans chapter chapter 4 verses 7 and 8. Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Covered by what? Man, his blood was good enough to pay for the sins of the whole world.

It's awesome. His blood was good enough to pay for my sin, past, present, and future. Blessed is the 1 whose sin the Lord will only count against them if they ask for forgiveness. Is that what it says? That's how a lot of us live.

Right? Blessed is the 1 who sin, the Lord will never count against them. Never. Who is the 1? The 1 who receives the free gift of salvation.

Believes and receives the fact that Jesus paid for all of your sin. The 1 who believes it. Who has the hope in Christ. They are pure just as he is. Pure.

What is the difference between begging for forgiveness and thanking Jesus for covering sin?

Right? When you believe it and receive it, then you begin living as 1 who is forgiven. Amen? See, some people actually think, some people think, man, if I were to die and I sinned, and I didn't ask for forgiveness after that sin, I got in a car wreck, I'd go to hell. So they're always, Lord Jesus, oh, forgive me.

Lord, please forgive me. Please. Oh my gosh. Please forgive me. Their trust is in their ability to ask for forgiveness and not in Jesus.

So that's what it means by we're already forgiven. Now, let's let's get to the rest of the question. When praying, should a believer ask for forgiveness? And, you know, for me, out of habit, sometimes, I still when I mess up, I go to God. I don't run from God.

I go to him because I know his love for me. Out of habit, growing up as a kid, you know, I I go to God and I say, Lord Jesus, man, I did this. Would you forgive me? And then I realized, wait a second, I am forgiven. Thank you, Jesus, that I'm forgiven.

Let me ask you this. Out of there's 2 different people. Person a, they go to God and they say, oh, God, would you please forgive me? I need forgiveness. Boy, I'm I'm so I I did this.

I did this. Lord, please forgive me. Please. Lord, please forgive me. Person b.

Lord Jesus, I did this. Well, thank you that your blood covers me. Thank you that I'm forgiven. Thank you that I'm loved by you. Thank you that I'm a new creation in Christ Jesus.

Thank you that that's what your word says about me. Thank you, father, that I can boldly approach your throne because of your blood, and there's no guilt, shame, or condemnation, but I'm your son. Which 1 actually believes that they're forgiven? B. Right?

Letter b. Number 2, letter b. Yeah. Yeah. I in ministering to people and leading someone to Jesus, I know they actually believe it when they "quit begging" and "start thanking".

When they quit begging for forgiveness and start thanking Jesus that that his blood is covered. When they start thanking him that they are forgiven. Amen? Okay. So I do believe that as Christians, we confess.

*Confession, I think and we're gonna talk about confession. It's important. I do believe in confession, and I do believe in repentance*. Confession and repentance is vital, but I don't believe we have to continually ask beg for forgiveness. Okay?

Ask for forgiveness. So what is confession? The common understanding of confession means, you know, if you were to ask people in the street, what what does it mean to confess? It means you you, you know, you humbly go forward and and and ask, or or admit what you did. Right?

To confess. I can I'm confessing my sin. Let's talk a little bit about what the Bible says about that. First John. *1 John-1:9* says, but whoever oh, that's second Peter.

How does confession function differently for unbelievers versus believers seeking healing?

That's not first John. There we go. *1 John-1* verse 9 says, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all *unrighteousness*. Right? There's a lot of different thoughts on *1 John-1*.

We don't have to a 100% be on the same page for 1 John-1 for you to be a believer and me be a believer, we be united in Christ Jesus. Right? Don't go and say, well, he believes something different than me on *1 John-1*, so man, he's a heretic. Stop it. That's just gonna create division in the body.

That's just gonna create division in the body. And what does the Bible say about division in the body? First and second Timothy, Titus watch this. *Titus-3:9-10* and 11. It says, But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, and arguments, and quarrels about the law because these are unprofitable and useless.

Warn a divisive person once, then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful, are self condemned. So there's a lot of backbiting and stuff in the global church. Well, if we if we agree on Jesus Christ, that he died and rose again, and we're preaching Jesus, and people's lives are being transformed, come on, guys.

We're on the same team. And unity happens. Unity happens as we have a clearer understanding of who *Jesus* is. We're unified based on him. And Jesus' prayer in *John-17* was, father, make them 1 as we are 1, so that the world will know.

So don't you know that the enemy's most effective form of preventing the world from knowing is disunifying them, causing division? So don't participate in gossip about churches. Stop. It's divisive. And I'll warn you once, I'll warn you again, and then I'll follow scripture.

Okay? Fair enough? Alright. So anyway, *1 John-1*, and we can talk more about this later, but I believe *1 John-1* is for the unbeliever, and there's a reason for that. The the we I'm gonna get into it, aren't I?

The we in here is just like if I'm talking to someone who doesn't know Jesus, and I'm talking about the gospel, and I'm I'm identifying with them, and I'm saying we, and it makes clear that the we he's talking to has never heard the message, is walking in darkness, if you read through verse by verse, doesn't know the truth, and and has claimed to be without sin. And so he says, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. So they're not purified yet from all unrighteousness either. Right? But we are because we've been forgiven.

And 2 Corinthians-5:21 says, he who knew no sin became sin so that in him we might become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. K? So this is the unbeliever confessing confessing sin, bringing bringing their their junk to Jesus, and he cleanses them and purifies them and forgives them once and for all. Amen? It's important.

*Confession is important. As believers, James-5:16*, says, therefore, confess your sins 1 to another and pray for each other so that you may be healed. Right? It's 1 of my favorite verses. I love it because I was freed because of this verse from some junk in my own life.

What does this mean? I have maybe as a Christian, as a believer, you have this pattern of sin in your life that you just can't get over. And because of that, your conscience you have a guilty conscience. And that guilty conscience what that guilty conscience is doing is you're setting up a wall between you and God. God didn't set that wall up.

You did by your own guilty conscience because that you're running from him instead of running to him. The whole time, God's saying, I love you. My blood cleanses you from a guilty conscience. But for some whatever reason, we're having trouble trusting and hearing his words, so because of that, we're repeating the same sin over and over and thinking that we're unclean. Make sense?

Why should Christians expose the fruitless deeds of darkness rather than hide them?

Follow me? Okay. So what do you do? Confess your sins 1 to another. That's the importance of relationships in the body of Christ.

So you go to your you find a a brother or sister who's spiritual, who knows Jesus, who understands, and you say, hey, I'm dealing with this. I'm struggling in this area. You know what that brother says? Hey, man. You're forgiven.

You're loved by God. You're a new creation in Christ, and reminds you of the word, washes your feet by the water of his word. So that hearing that, you're like, woah. But not only that, he prays and pray for 1 another. He prays for you that that addiction or that stronghold or that that area that you've kept repeating over and over is healed, so that you can be physically, emotionally, and spiritually healed all in 1 moment.

It's vital. We're the body of Christ. We don't hide things. We expose it. Watch this.

Ephesians. This is 1 of my favorites. *Ephesians-5* says, verse 8, for you were once darkness. Not you were once in darkness. You were once darkness.

But now you are *light*. You're not yes, you're in the light. But you are light because his light is in you and your new creation in light. So live as "children of the light". For the fruit of light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth, and find out what pleases the Lord.

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. Everybody say expose them. Yeah. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. Remember before you gave your life to Jesus?

You there were some things that you were just ashamed of, didn't want to to some people even say, I don't wanna walk into a church building and I'll just burst into flames. Yeah? Ashamed of some things? Some people living as a Christian are ashamed of some things and hiding things. We're gonna we're gonna get rid of that today.

I ain't gonna call you out, but but I'm gonna give you the keys to get rid of that today. Okay? It says, but everything exposed by the light becomes visible, and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. What does that mean? I've shared this before, I'm gonna share it again.

You know, for about 5 years of my life, I I was ashamed. I struggled with pornography. For about 5 years of my life. 10 years ago, 9 or 10 years ago, the Holy Spirit moved in my heart, and I realized it was something that I didn't believe what he was saying about me. So I needed to confess.

God told me I had to confess it to my wife. Ouch. So I did. Confess your faults 1 to another, your sins 1 to another, pray for each other, you may be healed. So I did.

How does the light expose deeds and lead to confession of the same thing?

It hurt her. She prayed for me, though. I was healed, and I set free. Something supernatural miraculous happened. I was "100% set free".

So what I used to be it's even shameful, you know, mentioned with the disobedient doing secret. What I used to be ashamed of because of what was happening, all of a sudden, because I'm set free from it, now because my it becomes my testimony of what Jesus has been set me free from, I'm not ashamed anymore, but I'm proud that Jesus has set me free from a struggle, and I can share it as a testimony. But now, he took what was darkness and turned it into light. So now, as I'm sharing it, it's not darkness anymore. It's light because it's exposing what Jesus has done.

That light's going out, and maybe some of you have struggled with the same thing. Now it's exposing that darkness in your heart, and you have a choice. Do I expose it myself, or do I continue to hide it in shame? Yeah? Watch this.

*John-3. John-3* says, verse 19, this is the verdict. Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But you're not afraid of that.

You're not afraid of your deeds being exposed because you know that God loves you, and he cares for you. So we don't run from God in fear anymore. We say, oh, I messed up, and we run to our heavenly father. Right? So what does it what what what does it say next?

It says, but whoever lives by truth, that's you, comes into the light so that it may be seen seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. Which leads me to the most common biblical use of the word confession. The other use is sometimes. This is the most common use of of the word confess. The Greek word is homologio.

Say that 3 times fast. I'm just kidding. My son is very literal too. Which means homologio means to "say the same thing". Say the same thing.

So if there's an issue in my life, there's a problem, like it says in John-3, I come into the light. I I bring it. I I I I say, God, this is the issue. This is what's going on. And and you know what he does?

He *Ephesians-5:24* or 25 and 26 is it. That's what he does. Let me let me that's what he does. *Ephesians-5*, he says, 25, it says, husbands love your wives just as Christ loved the church. Christ loves you even more than any husband in this world loves his wife.

And gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the "washing with water" through the word. And to present her to himself a radiant church without stain or wrinkle. So I I mess up. I'm like, oh my gosh. First thing I do is I I take it to God.

God, I messed up. You know what Jesus says? Hey, I've already forgiven you of that. I forgave you 2000 years ago. Really, I was crucified before the the foundation of the world, what his word says.

You're a new creation in Christ Jesus. You're washed clean. You're pure. I know you say you're telling me you told this little white lie, but you're not a liar. You're a truth teller.

That's who you are, and I'm washing you by the water of my word. I'm like, oh, man. So then I confess. I say the same thing. Thank you, Jesus, that I'm forgiven.

Thank you that I'm a truth teller. Thank you that that you love me. Thank you that I'm a new creation. That's homologios, saying the same thing. Amen?

Which leads to repentance. What is repentance? It means metanoia, to change your mind. Without repentance, we keep doing the same thing over and over. *Romans-12:2* says, we're *transformed* by the renewing of our mind.

So he shares his word about us. We say, wow. We confess, we agree, then we shift our mind. Wait a second. I'm I don't have to do this anymore because he said that I'm a new creation, and that's what I just confessed with my mouth.

How do we wipe the "black paint" off others and live at peace as far as it depends on us?

So I'm gonna change my mind and make it line up with what he says about me, and by changing my mind, I'm transforming my life. Amen? It's good. So our relationship with him is important. That's kind of how that works.

Our relationships with people are just as important to God. They're vital. But if I if I sin, if I make a mistake, if I mess up, it doesn't just affect me in my life as we learned last week, it affects other people too. I can't just run to them and say, hey, God forgives me, so you should too. You ever tried that?

It won't work. No. Romans-12:18 says, if it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. So when we make a mistake and we mess up, imagine this white room. We're in a white room, and we got all the people that that mess up affects us, or was affected by us, was affected by our mess up.

You get what I'm saying. All those people around me. I'm in this white room, and I got a bucket of black paint, and I make a mistake. So it's like I throw the paint up, and it hits, and it splatters all over everyone. I go to God and he says, hey, you're already clean.

I look down, there's no black paint on me. Thank you, Jesus. I'm forgiven. I'm pure. I'm white.

I'm holy because of you. It's awesome and wonderful. But I look around, there's black paint all over everybody. Oh my gosh. I'm not just going on about my life.

I go to each 1 that my mess up affected. As far as depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Hey, I did this. I'm sorry. I know it affected you.

Would you forgive me? Hey, yourself and do that. By doing so, you're wiping the black paint off. Now, they might get mad and rail at you and all this other stuff. That's not what they should do because we're forgiven by God.

We should forgive each other. But if they do that, give them the grace of taking it. Listen. *Love* them anyway, because Christ loved you in the middle of your mistakes anyway. When you were offended at God, he still loved you and died for you.

So as long as they're offended at you, you still love them, you still be kind to them, you still and and do your part, and then move forward in Christ Jesus. Each person you'll paint God on. It's important because relationships matter. And he connected us with himself so that we can be connected with him, but also grow in our relationships with 1 another. If we are walking the light as he in the light is in the light, we will have fellowship, 1 with so any divisiveness, somebody is walking in darkness.

Yeah? So we expose it in ourselves, and we love the other person, and wash their feet, even if they're walking in darkness for a little bit, until they see the light of Jesus. Because it's the "kindness of God" that leads a person to repentance. A lot of times, it's his kindness through us. Yeah?

Amen.
