You are called to embrace the authority of the believer and step into the reality of God's healing power. Don't just listen for notes, but receive the revelation that will expand your vision for what God wants to do in your life. Stand on faith even when resistance comes, knowing He is your healer.
So I went and I stood on the steps of the auditorium outside as they're coming in, and I'm preaching the gospel. And I'm surrounded by all these elders, and they're throwing questions at me about, the return of Jesus and Armageddon. And I said, I I wanna ask you a question. Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed? And then they wrote me off, and I had no crowd left.
But, I went to this meeting in this this tent crusade, and the evangelist said, today, I'm not laying hands on the sick. I want you to pray for anyone that's around you that is sick. And I'm sitting there, and, and and he says, those that are sick, would you please stand? And this young man who had polio with metal braces on his legs stood, and I thought, why couldn't you just have a headache or a stomachache? Because there was no 1 else to lay hands on him but me.
So I laid hands on him, and his legs were made whole, and the braces were removed, and, he walked. Now, I don't believe it was me in any way. I actually believe it was the evangelist authority just flowing through me. It was his faith flowing through me, but it was a great exercise of my faith to see this man, this young man raised and walking, took the calipers off, you know, there were crutches and wheelchairs, and I watched God move in an incredible way. And that got me excited about the reality of God's healing power.
I would go out on the streets and lay hands on everything that moved, and if it didn't move, I would go in particular and lay hands on it. I was very hungry for the things of God, not just for the gospel, but for divine healing and miracles. 1 day, I was riding, between 2 cities, Port Elizabeth and East London, and as I'm coming through the the mountain pass, I see this bright light on the hill that's brighter than the sun. And I thought, I've never seen a building I was thinking of the sun rising reflection. I've never seen a building in the middle of the bush.
And and I'm gazing at it, and I'm lifted out of my body, and I'm caught into this light. And I find myself standing in an African village, and I heard the Lord say, "who will go" and who will speak for us? I hadn't read Isaiah-6. I said, I will go, and then he gave me a strategy to go into a region or 2 regions called cis sky and trans sky, and he gave me a strategy to reach, over 300 villages in a period of 7 years. And so, I was untrained in the language, untrained in culture.
I'd gone to my pastor. I said, I really wanna go to bible school to be equipped, and I need you to write a letter of recommendation, and he pushed it at me. He said, I can't do that for you. Okay. And by the grace of God, eventually, was moved out of that church through a dream to another city because that's where I got saved.
That's where I'd stay. I wasn't offended. I wasn't hurt. I just thought, well, tell me what I need to do, but he wouldn't. He had no time for me because I was this hippie surfer.
By the way, I filled this church with surfers because I went to I went to my surfing community, and I reached them, and I would load them in my Volkswagen camper, and we would travel there. I had this double bed in the back of my my Volkswagen, curtains and beads and my big box of 8 track grand funk railroad, now replaced with Maranatha Singers and Jimmy Swaggart rolling my eyes. And I would load the church, and I started filling the church with and so he was even more irritated with me. I once went to him. I said, I was reading that we must go into all the world and preach the gospel.
And and and he said to me, we used to do that, but it doesn't work. So he said, why don't you go join that ministry that does that? And he mentioned a place called Vital Link. So I said, I'll do that, but I'm gonna stay in your church, and he looked so disappointed. But I learned a lot, by going out on the streets with Vital Link, and Oscar Prella was the leader of that ministry, and we had like a street coffee bar, and we would preach on the streets.
And and so my faith grew now, I'm told, by the spirit of God to go into the villages. So I go into my first village. I know nothing about the culture, And I walk into that village and I'm going I got permission from the chief to go into the village. I'm going from door to door inviting people to the central, what we call a crawl, which is like a thorn bushes in a circle with a gate where they bring the goats to keep them safe from wild animals. And in the middle is a post where they slaughter the ox or the goats to offer the blood to their forefathers to appease the spirits.
And, and so I saw the image of the cross. Yeah. The blood was shed and guilt was dealt with. So I'm inviting people to this crawl area to hear the gospel. And I go into this home and there's a boy with a disfigured face.
And I said to to his mom, mother, bring your son. God will heal him today. So I'm in this car preaching and it's like I've hit a wall. I'm preaching and everyone's just sitting there. There's no happening.
Nothing's happening. And and I suddenly see the boy and I think my preaching is not cutting it. And I said, mother, bring your son here. And I laid my hand on his face that was disfigured and a legion of demons came screaming out of his body. He vomited.
It was a beautiful thing because the vomit was coming straight for me. I stepped aside and it went past me. He was delivered and his face became whole in front of everyone there and then, and I reached my first village for Christ. And I learned the secret to win a community was to walk in the authority of the the the name of Jesus to cast out demons and to heal the sick. The very ministry of Jesus continued.
Book of acts living, and so that was my strategy to take villages, go in, find the sick, find the demonized, get them healed, delivered, preach the gospel, get them filled with the holy spirit, take them down to the nearest dam or river and baptize them and start a church. If there were churches, then I would say, go to your church and hopefully revive that church. If there was no church, I would plant 1. By the time I was 5 By the time I was 35, I'd already planted 65 churches and reached over 300 villages for Christ. It was like walking in the book of Acts.
I cast out demons every day because of witchcraft, animism. I saw the sick healed. Everything that you can imagine, the blind saw, the deaf heard, became naturally supernatural. Of course, God is spirit. He's not supernatural.
He is spirit, but his works, we call it supernatural, but it's normal for God. And I walked in that and saw that how it impacted the areas and so we took a nation for God in 7 years. And, in that time, we reached over 1000000 souls. And, it was just a a great part of my my life. Fast forward, I'm now 40 years old.
I planted over 70 odd churches. I'm pastoring. I've written curriculum. I've got bible schools, missions training institutes. God tells me to come to The United States Of America.
I felt there was a shift in my life, And so I went into a season of fasting and prayer because I needed clarity. And and and I went on the beach to pray, and I was sitting on the sand dune, God said to me, go to The United States. And I said to God, why there? Can't you send me to Vietnam or Cambodia where there are no churches? Why are you sending me to a nation?
I'm a pioneer. I'm not designed for city life. I don't wanna be there. I wanna be in a village in Africa. And he was silent, but my devotions in that 21 day fast was the book of Jonah.
So I thought, I don't wanna be I don't wanna be, vomited into my destiny. So I resigned my church. I handed over all my churches to indigenous leaders. I sold my house, got my family. Philip Smith who's the president of of Overland Missions, the organization that Jake is number 2, came with me.
We got religious visas supernaturally. To this day, I've not met the man that has sponsored me into the nation. I didn't know who he was. Philip had a friend who had a friend who had a friend. He signed documents.
We walked in, came through customers. They said, We'll give you a 1 year, and then Stampton gave me 3 years, which was enough time to apply for a green card and got a green card, got citizenship. And I came to America and I said to God, I have nothing to say to this nation and, I don't have vision for this nation. And and and all I got was unless a seed fall to the ground and die, it abides alone. And he said, I've given you, Africa.
I've given you the villages of Africa, but you need to allow it to die. And and so I'd come here and I didn't know what to do. And I got off the plane, and you've met John Zechariah, and John was standing at the those days, you could go into airports and meet people, and he was standing there with a sign with my name. He said, we heard you were coming. My pastor heard you were coming and invite you to preach in in in in our church this weekend.
I said, let me check my schedule. I said, looks like the rest of my life is open. I think I can accommodate you. And so I preached, and I sent Philip and my family to Busch Gardens. We stayed right across the road in a hotel.
I sent them to Busch Gardens to go and have fun, and I sought God. I said, God, I've agreed to preach. I have no idea what I'm gonna say. He said, I want you to preach on the "conditions of heart" for revival. And so I went in.
The glory fell. They wanted me to stay for months because of the intensity of God's presence. People were being filled and touched and healed. But I wanted to go to a conference where Rodney was doing in Lakeland. And so I said, I'm only gonna be here for the weekend.
I wanna go to this conference and we'll see what God says. So I went to Lakeland and I was standing in line to register, and a man tapped me on the shoulder, Gary Monte Carlo from Merritt Island and Cocoa Beach, and that's where Overland is based there. He said, God spoke to me and said, invite this man to preach in your church. He said, I've been in ministry for 20 years. My dad was a pastor of a Pentecostal church.
I've never done this ever, but God spoke so clearly to me. I said, well, on the basis that God spoke so clearly to you, let me just check my schedule. I said, The rest of my life is open. I think I can accommodate you. So Philip and my family, we went to that church.
We stayed there about 4 weeks. We reached about 5 churches, took them into a great move of God. And from there, I was invited to Chicago, Homewood Full Gospel Church in Chicago. And they said, would you come and be a speaker at a missions conference? And I was so glad because I didn't want to be a Rodneyite.
I didn't wanna be a revivalist. I wanted to be a missionary in Africa. I just actually wanted to go home. I would have gone home, but and I I would have just humbled myself, but God was moving and I thought I better just stay. I didn't like America.
I wandered a village in Africa. That's all I wanted. So I went to Homewood and I was in a meeting with school kids on a Friday morning. I landed. It was snowing in Midway Airport.
I don't know if you've ever been to Midway. You land in between houses and I'm thinking, what am I doing here? And I'm standing in a school and he said The principal said, would you speak about Africa? So I'm talking about the geography, tribals, tribals, village routine, and that sort of thing. And while I'm speaking, a cloud rolls into the meeting.
A black cloud, a dark cloud fills the place. People are on the floor screaming, crying. People are repenting. A teacher who was mad because her class was disrupted by this African came walking through the door. It was a Christian school, and, she came in prophesying.
Anyway, that and the pastor's kids were in the school. They rededicated their life. They're now both in full time ministry because of that encounter. That Sunday, I was meant to preach, in the evening, but I went in the morning. The lead pastor spoke.
He was an Indian man, a great man, good friend, and the glory fell, but it was like he was Pentecostal. Once your meeting was done, you send people home despite what God is doing. So there's this holy ghost move in the middle of the church. I said, as he dismisses, would you mind if I go and pray for those people? So I go pray and God moves people attached.
People are walking out the church. They came walking back in because of the intensity of the supernatural manifestations of God. And they sat down, and then eventually the entire church, which was about 7 or 800 people, was laid out under the benches, over the benches. You had to be there to see it. So it's now 04:00 in the afternoon.
He dismissed the church at noon. At 04:00, he says, Leon, I think we should go get something to eat because we're gonna be back here at 06:00 tonight. So we get in the car. He says, this was a great move of God, but we'll know if it's real. If people are back at church tonight, he says, my people don't come to church in the evening, and especially the men because at that stage, Jordan was the big basketball player and it was coming towards their finals and it was a huge match.
And he said, I don't think any men will be in the church. So I never do this, but I I didn't want to be in the worship because it freaked me out, the thought that there'd be no men and no people. And I thought, let me just go to the green room. And I sat there. I said, just call me when it's time to come out.
And I'm praying, God, please let there be at least 1 man here. And so I eventually, come and get me, and I closed my eyes and said, lead me to the pulpit. I didn't wanna look. And I stood there. I said, will all the men stand?
And I heard shuffling, and I thought, praise the lord. And the place was packed. The entire church was packed, and the glory fell. I stayed there 4 weeks. I watched open wounds, ulcerated wounds close instantly.
I watched blind eyes open, deaf ears open, and there was a great move of God that opened The US, Puerto Rico, Bulgaria, Italy, Central South America. I've traveled the nations, 55 nations from that God invasion. And I've been fully booked from that day as a carrier of God's power. But eventually, I came to a place, I'm seeing God move, but it was different to Africa. Eventually, I would lay hands on the sick and I would see them come sick and leave sick, and it really bugged me.
Eventually, I got to a point where I didn't wanna even lay hands on the sick anymore because it was like hope deferred makes the heart sick, and my heart was getting sick. And I went to the word and I studied the word to refresh myself in what I'd grown up with. I found in The United States a blockage, a spiritual blockage to the supernatural. People wanted joy. People wanted to be touched by God, but when it came to healing and miracles, it was like a a war.
In Africa, I walk in and and there would be these god explosions, and I'll tell you about that later on as the day progressive. Sorry. I'm taking so long to give you the backdrop to why so I got into the word and I renewed the spirit of my mind concerning divine healing and miracles. And I wrote this course called Healing School, which is what I'm gonna share from today, which was not only for people to be healed, but also for the believers to carry the healing ministry. So I went into a church in LaSalle, Peru in Illinois.
And the place was packed. People were hungry. And I taught I watched how John G Lake did it. He would teach the word for 7 days because faith comes by hearing, and then after 7 days, he would lay hands on the sick. He didn't just go straight into healing and miracles.
He would address the indoctrination that limited the move of God, cessationism, where people no longer believed in the the present day working of the Holy Spirit. So I thought, let me try that. And so when I called for healing, the line was full. The first person they brought to me was not in my healing school. And I'm thinking, this is a contradiction.
You meant to be here having sat under the wood. Anyway, she came with a a white cane, blind, and, they stood her in front. They said, her eyesight has diminished. She can see very little. They said, the surgeon said to her, look at your kids because you'll see their face no more.
Her driver's license was already removed. She's learning to to do braille, and she's walking with a cane. And the gift of faith came on me, and I grabbed my bible. Those days, I didn't use an iPad. I still carried a bible.
And I put my bible in her hands and I said, in the name of Jesus, "woman, read". And her eyes were opened and she read. A couple of years, about 2 years ago, I was in a church in LaSalle Peru, I was talking about that meeting. And I said, this miracle took place, and the lady raises her hand. She was in my meeting, healed, seen.
And so that got me going you've just met Rob Thomas outside. He's a friend from Memphis. His dad, Bob, was pastoring the church at that stage. He was the youth pastor and the worship leader. God spoke to me and said, Don't just And at that stage, miracles started to increase because I was going after it.
He said to me, Miracles don't guarantee maturity. Teach the words. So I took my healing school and I taught the word for 7 days in that church. And, after 7 days, I laid hands. The first person that came forward was a lady who had goiter on the side of her neck like this huge, disfigured.
And I laid hands on the goiter and I was really hoping it would fall off and like splatter on the ground and gross everyone out. There was the image that I'd prepared as she came forward. I thought this would be cool. And she walked away with a big lunging goiter, and it bugged me. The next day, I come into the church and this lady walks up to me.
She says, brother Leon, can I testify today? I said, about what? She said, you don't recognize me. I said, no. Never seen you before.
She pulls out her driver's license. It was the lady with the goiter. She looked totally different. I didn't recognize her at all. And overnight, it had disintegrated and left her body.
There was another person who was losing their eyesight and they didn't see, and that really bugged me as well. And the next day, he's sitting in the surgeon's office. The doctor's talking to him about the his future. While he's sitting in the doctor's office, God touches his eyes and he's healed in front of the doctor. 1 man came forward who had, stomach cancer.
I didn't punch him. Don't worry. Even though I admired Smith Wigglesworth. But I've I've felt the word of the Lord come to me and and I said to him, what haven't you eaten and what do you wanna eat? He said, I would love to eat a hamburger.
I said, I want you on your way home to stop at the nearest McDonald's and order yourself a "Big Mac attack" and I want you to eat that giving thanks to God. And he was instantly healed. When he went to McDonald's, he was totally emaciated. He was healed. And because of that spoken word, I was In that same meeting, a man came forward.
This this is an interesting story. He came forward on a cane, and God touched his legs, and he walked and, pain free. And it was quite a miracle. So the meetings were very long. I think it could have been like 12:00 at night when he got out and his daughter had brought him and he said to his daughter, You know what I feel like is turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and beans.
She said, Listen, just go home, go to bed, and get something in the morning to eat. When he got home, there was a package at the door, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and beans. There's a missionary on furlough. They were sitting at home, and they felt they need to prepare a meal and go they got to the house. They knocked on the door.
There was no 1 there. They put the package down, and, and then god not only healed him but blessed him with the meal that he desired. And so it's been a journey over many years of seeing god work and god move and face disappointments and then see the reality of, God's power. A couple of years ago, I was in Chicago doing meetings and I got a call from my son, Matthew, who was backpacking through Europe and The UK, And he said, Dad, something's wrong with my legs. I can't urinate.
My legs are feeling tingling. And I said, You need to I'm gonna pray for you, but you need to go get checked out. Instead of going to get checked out, he went to sleep, woke up, and he was worse. He called me. He said, Dad, it's worse.
I said, Just get to the nearest hospital and get someone to check you out. When he got into the hospital, he collapsed in the foyer. They rushed him into the emergency room. I got a call from a surgeon who said, Your son's dying. He won't make it through the night.
And I I said, thank you for telling me, and I prayed for my son. I had to preach that night, and God had given me a word to preach on the joy of the Lord. The joy of the Lord is your strength, and I thought, what a contradiction. My son is dying, and you're telling me to preach on the joy of the Lord, but I was obedient. I didn't have my passport with me, so it had to be flown from Tampa to Chicago overnight.
When I got my passport, I could book my ticket to The UK. I got on a plane, flew overnight, got into He had lived. The surgeon called me and said, Your son's alive, but he'll never walk. He's paralyzed for the rest of his life. So I flew in, and faced this incredible situation challenging for any father.
I I said to Matthew, I said, Maddie, I'm gonna lay hands on you. The bible says if you say to this mountain, be lift up and cast into the sin. Do not doubt you'll have what you say. And I'm saying to you by the word of the Lord that you'll walk out of this place in 2 weeks. He's paralyzed.
His eyes are squint. He can do nothing. And, I laid hands on him. I felt zilch. Nothing.
Nada. Not even a tremor of glory go through my body. I'm just by faith. And so he was in a general ward, and and so I wasn't allowed to stay with him. I've got a hotel.
I didn't even have clothes with me, just my preaching guy had suits. I had no casuals or anything. I'd come straight from Chicago, straight to him. I got in this hotel room. I prayed.
You just spoke about my healing school at the back as every New Testament scripture on healing, every Old Testament scripture on healing. How did it get there? Because that's the meditation that I had in that period. I took every 1 of those verses and spoke it and believed it and confessed it and taught him what the word said about his destiny. I said to Maddie, in the morning, you'll be able to move your toes, then your ankles, then your knee, your legs.
Your body will come back to full use. I got a call. His toes are moving. His ankles are moving. His knees.
We got to 7 days, 14 days, he's meant to walk out. That 7 days, his body regresses back to the first state. Over and above that, I'm as sick as a dog. I've eaten something. I've picked up something in the hospital.
I'm puking. I'm sick. I fainted in the bathroom. I'm believing for him. I'm believing for me.
At 7 days, we push through in the supernatural, speaking the word, standing on faith. 14 days later, he walks out. Not strong. Neither his legs had already emaciated. It's amazing how quickly muscle deteriorates, but I've got him on a plane.
I flew him home. I got home and I have this double story house. I had to move his legs up the stairs, but he walked up the stairs, got into bed. We did physio. Today, he lives a normal life, healed by the grace of God.
According to the word, 2 weeks later, you'll walk. So I've been tested, in this. You understand? I've been tested in my own body, in my family, and 1 thing to believe the word, it's another thing to stand in the face of resistance. So this is a journey, and you will be entering into a journey healing for you, through you.
And some of you will need healing. Some of you want to carry healing to your family, to your friends, and in your evangelism. Am I trusting that today faith will be expanded in you? Vision will be expanded in you, and your capacity to walk in the authority of the believer in gifts of healing, working of miracles, and, and in the redemptive realities will become your reality. He is not I was.
He is I am. And the 1 name is "I am your healer". And not only is he your healer, but he's the the healer of those that you will touch through your life. You're a "carrier of that name". You're a carrier of that glory into your world.
And I want you by the end of today when we get to the last session that your faith, your vision will be greatly enlarged for what God wants to do in and through your life. Let's stand and pray, and then we'll take a short break. I'll hand over to pastor, and we'll come back for the next couple of sessions. Did you get something out of this? Yes.
It's a journey. It's a journey. I've just given you 50 years in in a snapshot of my development in these realms and trust for it to be yours. Our next session, I'm gonna deal with the word that will take us to 12:00. We're gonna break for lunch.
Then at 01:00, I'm gonna teach on faith and healing and some, I think, critical elements to you operating in the flow of God's power. And then we'll do 1 more session or maybe 2 more sessions. I would like to do communion with you before the end of today because I've learned the power of communion in healing. It's an amazing thing. I I I just had friend a call me that was deathly ill, and I said, I want you to listen to the doctor.
The doctor says, take your meds 3 times a day. What do you do? Take your meds 3 times a day. I said, I want you to do communion. And as you take communion, just as Israel was delivered from Egypt and there was none feeble among them as they ate that lamb, as you consume this bread and cup, that you will not be feeble, that you will not be sick, and God heal them.
And I'm believing just to bring that reality to you before we close. Now, if you have questions, would you write out your question with your name if you want to? You don't have to. And and if we have time, I'm gonna let him deal with all the difficult questions. I'll take the easy ones, like why I confessed I believed.
