Father God, thank you for who you are. Lord God, I thank you that you're here. Lord, I thank you that you're good, and I thank you that I can't preach a message that's gonna change anybody's life, but you can. Lord, you can speak your word through me. You can speak your word through anybody, Lord.
And so we ask you to speak, Lord. We sit on the edge of of our seats listening from for a word from you, knowing that that if you speak, it will impact our lives for eternity. Thank you, Jesus, that you choose to use us. Thank you, Jesus, that I had the honor of getting to speak your word today. In Jesus name.
Amen. So last week, we started a series titled Holy Spirit, and we really dove into the person of the Holy Spirit. Who is the Holy Spirit? We even answered a couple of controversial questions about the Holy Spirit just by going to his word. If that piques your interest, please check out our YouTube channel, Real Church Clearwater, or you can search on Facebook and and see that last message and and really dive in and learn who the Holy Spirit is.
But today, see, last week we talked about the person of the Holy Spirit. Today, we're talking about the power of the Holy Spirit. And we're gonna look into 2 different questions about the power of the Holy Spirit. Number 1, what is the **purpose of the power** of Holy Spirit? And number 2, what is his plan for the power of the Holy Spirit?
So number 1, let's let's look at that. What is the purpose of the power of the Holy Spirit? Like, is it just this demonstration of power? If it's is it is it, you know, hey, look what I can do, you know? Look at this.
Absolutely not. Remember last week we talked about the Holy *Spirit* is God. Period. The Holy Spirit is God. And in 1 John-4:16, the Bible is clear.
It says that God is love. If the Holy Spirit is God and God is love, that means that the Holy Spirit is love. Therefore, his purpose flows out anyone's purpose flows out of who they are. Right? So the the the purpose of the Holy Spirit, the purpose of the power that flows out of the Holy Spirit is love.
Period. So you can write that down. Take that note. The purpose of the power of the Holy Spirit is love. Let's, like, dive in right there for a little bit in 1 Corinthians-12, and we're gonna start in verse 29.
It says, are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Like, these is the this is the outflowing of the Holy Spirit's power in someone's life, miracle workers.
Do all have the gifts of healing? Yes. That still happens today. Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?
Now eagerly desire these gifts. These are manifestations of the power of the Holy Spirit. And yet, I will show you a "more excellent way". It says, *1 Corinthians-13:1*, if I speak in the tongues of men and of angels but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have the faith that can move mountains, faith that can move mountain, that's that's the power of the Holy Spirit, but do not have love, I am nothing.
If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast but do not have *love*, I gain nothing. And then in verse 13, it says this, and now these 3 remain *faith*, *hope*, and love, but the greatest of these is love. See, the purpose once again of the power of the Holy *Spirit* is love. Let's go to let's let's let's just take a moment to to dissect that. Let's talk about Jesus.
Like and why would I wanna talk about Jesus right now? Because once again, the purpose of the power of the Holy Spirit is love. And and Jesus being fully God. In Hebrews-1:3, it says that Jesus, the son, is the **"exact representation"** of the father in bodily form. Meaning, that that if you wanna see what the embodiment of love is walking around in a person, it's Jesus Christ, the exact representation of the father.
In Colossians-1:15, it says that the son is the image of God. Period. So do you wanna see what the incarnation of of love looks like? Once again, look at Jesus. Let's go to *Mark-6* and verse 34.
What does it say? *Mark-6:34 says, when Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion* on them because they were like "sheep without a shepherd". So he began teaching them many things. What is compassion? Compassion is with passion.
Right? And then *compassion* is always it's combined with love. Right? Because compassion is seeing someone's suffering with the desire to alleviate, to take away their suffering. Jesus, out of his love, saw people suffering because of their lack of knowledge.
The Bible says, without knowledge, my people perish. So he saw their suffering because of their ignorance, and he began teaching them, sharing with them what the father was showing him through the Holy Spirit. In the same way, for us in our daily life, We're to do the same thing. We share what God has shown us, but I'm getting ahead of myself. I'm getting ahead of myself.
I'm showing you Jesus for a reason. Stick with me here. In Matthew-14, we see another time where where Jesus flows, like the power of the Holy Spirit flows out of love. Jesus, the embodiment of the father in bodily form, the exact representation exhibit exhibits the power of the Holy Spirit, but through love. *Matthew-14:14* says, when Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
Healing of the sick flowed out of compassion. *Matthew-20:34*. What does it say? Says this. Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes.
Immediately, they received their sight and followed him. You you have the miracle of sight returning to the blind, and it flows from his compassion. Many times throughout the gospels, it says Jesus walked into this village, he walks into this crowd of people, he walks into this area, he sees them hurting, he has compassion. Remember, compassion flows out of love. And then the power of the Holy Spirit flowed out of him and healed them or performed miracles or taught them in such a way.
And and and what was what was the purpose of that? What was the purpose of that? Acts-10:37. We see it clearly. Talking about the power of the Holy Spirit.
It says this, Acts-10:37-38 says, you know what has happened throughout the providence of Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached, how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil because God was with him. So Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power. And and what did he do? He went around healing all who were under the power of the devil. Do you know why?
Because we are not created to be under the power of the devil. See, there's a power in this world called sin, and and sin causes sickness and disease, and the devil uses the power of sin to wrap us up into bondage and and and to put us under his power. But Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, went around freeing people from that. Why? Because out of love, he wanted us to experience the freedom that comes with being with him, with knowing him, with experiencing him in our daily life.
Now, some of you are like, okay, we're talking about the power of the Holy Spirit, but how is this applicable to my life? Like, does what you're saying have to do with me? Hopefully, you haven't checked out already because you were wondering that. Because it matters and it matters for you. And the reason that I'm talking about Jesus is very it's important, and I want you to grasp this.
Number 1, Jesus lived life. This is so important. Jesus lived life. I I I don't know. I don't know if we're ready to go here yet.
Okay. Alright. Some of you some of you, when with what I'm about to say are immediately gonna say, that that can't be true. But but it is. It's so important to understand what I'm about to say.
So important to believe it and receive it so that you can experience this in your daily life. Watch again as we go to Acts-10. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit empowered. You know, Jesus never did a miracle before he was **baptized in the Holy Spirit** empowered. Why?
Why did Jesus never do a miracle? Because he, you know, being until after he was baptized in the Holy Spirit and power. Couldn't he have? Well, Jesus was 100% God. Absolutely.
But Jesus became a man, and he lived life as a man filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus was was he he he put on human flesh. You can you imagine that, like, through him, everything was made that was made. Everything that we see was made through Jesus Christ. And out of his love for us, he he lived in in his own creation.
He was became a fetus and grew up as a little baby inside of a womb. The God of the universe inside of a womb, humbling himself, becoming a baby. Why? Why is it so important to understand this? So that we couldn't make the excuse and say, oh, that was Jesus.
No. Jesus grew up as a as a man choosing choosing not to use any of his god. As a matter of fact, Satan tempted him to use his godhood. Won't you turn these stones into bread? Won't you call all your angels to to to not let you crush, you know, hurt yourself when you fall off of this cliff?
Jesus rejected that. And Jesus chose to live life as a man. Why? Why is that so important? So that we couldn't make the excuse and say, oh, but that was Jesus.
Some of you don't believe me yet. Let me show you in scripture. See in Romans-8:29. Let's read it. *Romans-8:29*.
For those God for knew, he all also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son. You are predestined to be conformed to the image of Jesus that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. Oh my gosh. Jesus calls us a brother or a sister? What?
That's that's crazy. The firstborn among many. *Hebrews-2:11* says, he is not ashamed to call us brothers and sisters. Like, the the the bible calls him the second Adam. It calls him the the the last man.
Why does it say that? Because Jesus was literally born of a virgin. And why was he born of a virgin? Because he had to be a man. A man who lived life filled with the Holy Spirit, and that is vital.
It's so important for you to understand and believe that. See see why? Why is that so important? Because we know the purpose of the power of the Holy Spirit is to love, but the plan for the power of the Holy Spirit is to love through us. The plan of the power of the Holy Spirit is to love through us.
Remember, I told you, as we as we said in Hebrews-1:3, it says, the son is the exact representation of the father in bodily form. Period. But not only that, it says that he's the first of many. And in and it says in 1 John-4:17 that in this world, we are like Jesus. In this world, we are to be the exact representation of our heavenly father in bodily form.
In this world, we are to become love in the same way that Jesus did. Jesus died and rose again so that we could receive his life and become love to those around us. Don't doesn't the Bible say in John-14:12 that you will do the same things that I do and even greater? See, too often, too many of us have made the excuse. Well, that that's just a metaphor.
That's talking about numbers. That's not talking about the miracles. That's not talking about the freedom. That's not talking about the power of the Holy Spirit. Yes.
It is. No longer don't ever make that excuse again. You are called you are called by *God* to to "set people free" in your life in the same way that Jesus set people free in his life when he walked this Earth. Jesus is in you, empowering you to live like him in this world. Ephesians-5:1 says, be imitators of God.
That's amazing. Let me show you. Let's actually let's go there in *Matthew-9* and verse 37. *Matthew-9:37*. Says Jesus went through all the towns and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness.
Every single 1. That's amazing. Why did he do it? When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them. That's why.
The power casting out demons, preaching the gospel, healing the sick of every single disease. It's not God's will that you're sick, you're tired, you're hurting, you're depressed. It's not God's will. Jesus wants you set free from the power of the devil through the power of the Holy Spirit because of love, because he loves you out of compassion. But it doesn't stop there.
Watch this. When he saw the crowds, had compassion on them, verse 36 of Matthew-9, because they were harassed and helpless like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, here's the key. He said to his disciples, the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out the workers to the harvest field.
Jesus is saying, I'm a worker in the harvest field, and I'm setting people free from the power of the enemy. But but but I need to reproduce myself. And what he didn't tell him in the moment was, hey, guys. You're the answer to your own prayer. I'm telling you to pray and ask God to send out workers to the harvest field, but you are the ones that I'm gonna send out.
You are the ones I'm going to empower you to do the same things that I do and even greater. See, I have to go to the father, but I'm sending 1. It's important that I go to the father because when I go, unless I go, the Holy Spirit won't come to you, the comforter won't come to you. But when I send him, you're gonna be *anointed* with the same power that I have, that caused me that that I walked as a man anointed with the Holy Spirit that enabled me to set people free. You're gonna be anointed with that same power.
You're gonna be able to do the same things I did and even greater. You are the harvesters for the work for the field. You're the workers for the field that you are praying for. You are my "plan a". There is no plan b.
It's time to wake up, time to understand the power of the Holy Spirit, that it comes through love, and begin to love those around us and harvest. There's so many people that need the love of Jesus, and they need it through you. See, Jesus didn't just say that. See, they prayed. I believe they prayed right there because Jesus told them to pray.
I'm sure that they prayed. The very next verse, Jesus called his 12 disciples to them and gave them the authority to drive out impure spirits and heal every disease. He gave them authority that he had in order to do what he was doing so that they could go and be workers in the field. You might say, well, that's the 12. That's the 12 disciples.
Later, he he called 70. You know, like, well, that's the 70. That's 2,000 ago. When Acts, we see more than just the 12 and the 70. We see all kinds of people experiencing *miracles, experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit, freedom*, the power to boldly proclaim his proclaim his name.
The harvest is plentiful and the workers are few. And the power of the Holy Spirit what we learned from last week, what does the power of the Holy Spirit do? The power of the Holy Spirit gives you the power to be a witness. That is loving people. People need to experience the love of Jesus.
And if we love them, we need the power to be a witness so that we can share what they need in the moment. Then experience the kindness of God through us. And when they experience the "kindness of God", it turns them. It repentance comes from the kindness of God, and it's the kindness of God of through you through the power of the Holy Spirit. That's how it works.
You are plan a to reach the world for Jesus. Some of you are like, woah, like, wait, This is heavy. Yeah. It's heavy. It's the plan of God, but yet it's so light because it's his grace and his his glory, his presence that empowers us to walk in that love and to walk in that power.
Maybe you're sitting there out there saying and you're listening to this and you're like, man, how could I do that? I feel like I'm not free from the power of the devil. I feel like I'm not free. **Jesus paid the price** for your freedom 2000 years ago. It's time to believe it.
It's time to receive it. And if you have trouble with that, then get around some some mighty men of of God or mighty women of God or people that you know that are walking this thing out in their daily life. Hang around them until you do believe it, until you do receive it. Let them encourage you, and then get up and go be a worker in the harvest field. Time is short, and it's time right now.
I beg you. I'm praying for you, church. I'm praying that we would wake up and understand that life is no longer about me and my and all of my pains and all my hurts. No. Jesus loves you.
Jesus has set you free, and he wants you to take your eyes off of you, put it on him, and begin to love those around you with the power of the Holy Spirit that he's placed inside of you because the world is waiting to experience the love of Jesus, and it's waiting on you. Maybe you ask, how how can I receive the power of the Holy Spirit? How can I receive the "baptism of the Holy Spirit"? Well, we talked about it last week. Ask and receive it.
See, there's a lot of people that try to make it out as if you have to do something. You have to do these these tarrying meetings where you if you don't pray all night, then you're not gonna receive the Holy Spirit. That makes it so much about your work and less about his grace. Stop that. So many people make it about, well, I gotta I gotta get this and this and this out of my life because if I don't, no, no, Jesus already paid the price for you.
Let me let me let me show you something real quick just to set you free so that you can receive him today and begin walking in the power of the Holy Spirit. What by by what are you saved? It's by grace through faith. By what do you continue in him? By grace through faith.
What is the prerequisite for forgiveness of your sin? Really, well, think about it. What is the prerequisite for forgiveness of your sin? It's Jesus pouring out his blood. Without the **"shedding of blood"**, there's no forgiveness of sin.
So Jesus did the work. All we have to do is believe and receive. So prerequisite for forgiveness of sin is Jesus' work of pouring out his blood. What's the prerequisite for life change? Jesus rising again.
It's his life in us that changes us. We believe that Jesus rose again. Right? We receive his life and it changes our life. His resurrected life gives life to our mortal bodies.
So what do you have to do? You just have to believe and receive the life of Jesus in your life, and your life will begin to transform. So if if *forgiveness of sin* is Jesus' work, we believe and receive. If a transformed life is Jesus' work, we believe and receive. What do you think that the power of the Holy Spirit, the baptism of Holy Spirit, in our life?
How does that happen? Is it from your work of praying hard enough, being good enough, and reading the Bible enough? No. No. Actually, the Bible says in Acts-2 that that Jesus, being exalted to the right hand of God poured out the Holy Spirit.
Jesus did the work. He humbled himself and was exalted. And when he was exalted to the right hand of God, he poured out the spirit, the Holy Spirit on all flesh. All you have to do is believe it and receive it. It's time right now.
And and and here's what happens when you're when you're baptized in the Holy Spirit. You have the power to be a witness, the power to love. You'll notice the next time you go to to talk to somebody about Jesus, all of a sudden, the seed plants a little further in their heart. All of a sudden, they listen a little more. Maybe even they give their life to Jesus right there.
Or or or something you say, it just has the anointing of the power of the Holy Spirit, just like Jesus had 2000 years ago. There's something that changes. And those of you that have already received that, walk in it. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is for you to love, not for you to love yourself, but you for you to love people and share Jesus with people in your daily life. There's so many people that need him.
If if you would like to receive, if if you've never received the baptism of Holy *Spirit* you know what? If if you never receive forgiveness of sin, you never believe that that you're forgiven, you're always begging to be forgiven, but never really believe that you are. It's time right now. Jesus' blood is good enough
to pay for your past, present, and future sin. Why don't you say this, God, would you forgive me? Say it right now. God, would you forgive me? Guess what?
The trick is he already did. Believe it. Say thank you, Jesus. By by your blood poured out, I am forgiven. Thank you, Jesus.
Confess it right now. I am clean. I am washed new. I'm a new. Thank you, Jesus.
I ask you to come and live in my heart. I receive you right now. Make me brand new. But then his word says you are a new creation, so confess his word regardless of how you feel. Thank you that I am a "new creation".
Thank you, Jesus. Now, if you'd like if you'd like to be baptized in the Holy Spirit, maybe you've never felt anything or just believe it and receive it by faith through *grace* or by grace through faith. The Holy Spirit, your word says to ask and you'll give it. I I see right now. I need your power to be a witness in my life.
Would you baptize me in in the Holy Spirit? Holy Spirit, I welcome you. I submit my life to you. I receive you right now. I receive you.
Baptize me afresh and and give me whatever gifts or whatever power you want me to walk in. And let me walk in out in those things out of love for people so that when other people see me, they see you. I receive it right now. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus.
Amen. Many of you right now need a touch from from God. You're watching and and the power of the enemy is is is attacking your life, whether it's sickness, disease, depression, hurting, joints, joint pain, arthritis, blind, deaf, whatever it is, reconciliation in your relationships, the power of the Holy Spirit through his love because he loves you, wants to set you free. I'm gonna pray for you right now just like Jesus did, just like the apostles did in in Acts, just like the deacons did, just like people did. I'm a pray for you right now.
Receive his goodness. Receive freedom. Jesus already paid the price for it. Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for everyone watching this. Whatever they need, whatever whatever demonic attack the enemy is over them, I rebuke it in Jesus' name.
Ears be open, eyes be healed, legs be made whole in Jesus' name. Rise up and walk. Begin to move your feet. If it's your feet, if it's your ankles, if you if it's your knees, be healed in the name of Jesus. Depression, I command you to go.
*Holy Spirit*, we just welcome your peace in Jesus. We welcome your peace. Flood the room. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Thank you for your healing.
Thank you for your power. You're amazing and you're wonderful. Amen and amen.
